When the Band-Aid Doesn’t Fix It: A Mom’s Perspective on Raising a Child Who Struggles

April 25, 2017

You’re invited to attend a special event hosted by the YMCA, the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation and PartnerMD. When the Band-Aid Doesn’t Fix It: A Mom’s Perspective on Raising a Child Who Struggles is a free event open to the public being held April 25 and May 2.  The event will focus on education, awareness and understanding the issues facing teens today, in particular mental health.
Grace Gallagher, who serves as executive director of the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation, will share her own personal experience of her daughter Cameron’s personal struggles. Cameron passed away in 2014 after completing the Shamrock Half Marathon, but prior to that faced her own personal battles with depression and anxiety.  Also, onhand will be experts from PartnerMD who will discuss the resources available to parents in the Greater Richmond community, as well as local experts in the field of teen mental health.
