Cody Johnson was brought to tears during a show in California over the weekend, when he saw a young girl holding a sign that said, “I survived my bone marrow transplant to see CoJo. Your biggest fan.”
Cody actually stopped the show to step off the stage and give the kid a hug. After he got back to the microphone he took a few seconds to compose himself and wipe away tears.
Then he told the young lady, quote, “You don’t ever give up, you understand? Don’t you ever give up. Keep fighting strong.”
Cody Johnson knew what success looked like as a regional artist, but when his career began to explode, leading to his major label record deal, he learned to get by with a little help from his friends.
