This past Saturday before his show in Virginia Beach, Jason Deford, also known as the musician Jelly Roll, stopped by and visited inmates in the H.A.R.P program in the Chesterfield County Jail.

H.A.R.P stands for “Helping Addicts Recover Progressively” and began in 2016 when Sheriff Karl Leonard responded to the overdose deaths of several inmates within 24 hours of leaving the jail.

Today, H.A.R.P has grown and they continue to bring healing and recovery to countless male and female participants in the voluntary program.

Jelly Roll responded to a TikTok video request from the H.A.R.P TikTok account where they told Jelly, “We Need a Favor.”

Jelly told them he was following their Tapping Tuesday TikTok’s long before they started to tag him in their videos. During the visit Saturday, Jelly Roll visited, spoke, performed, and donated $1 of all ticket sales at the Virginia Beach show to H.A.R.P to help the participants in their recovery.

Jelly Roll’s visit was what the H.A.R.P program calls a “HOPESHOT.” His visit and life are a testament to the idea that “Anything is Possible” if you believe and will never be forgotten by those fortunate enough to be part of Saturday’s event.

Thank you so much to @harprva and @ccsova for the amazing story and photos. Keep doing what you’re doing!
