It’s 2025. How have we not fixed this yet?!
Garret and Lora dive into this discussion and even write a song about it.
A new poll found that 72% of Americans feel like they don’t have enough privacy in public bathroom stalls. You know why—those annoying little gaps in the doors where someone could peek in at any moment. It’s unsettling.
Over half of people—53%—say we should just get rid of the gaps altogether and 45% say the doors should go all the way to the floor. You know, like they do in other countries. Feels like a simple fix, right?
But wait—there’s more.
86% of people want bathrooms in high-traffic areas to have a display outside that shows how many stalls are open. Like those lights in a parking garage. I mean, that’s kind of genius. No more awkward stall-checking while making eye contact with someone who’s just sitting there.
And then there’s this one—47% of people think stalls should have timers on top so you can see how long someone’s been in there. Which feels like a setup for public shaming. “Uh, Karen, it’s been eight minutes. You okay in there?”
So, should we be fixing this, or is this just… too much?
