The Most Useless Things You Have Memorized:

useless-knowledge

Do you ever feel like your brain is at FULL CAPACITY and you wish you could FORGET the random junk that’s taking up space?

There’s a list on the internet of “the most useless things that people have memorized” over their lifetimes . . . and chances are, you can relate.  Here are some of the best ones:

1.  Old phone numbers from your childhood that don’t exist anymore.

2.  Old friends’ birthdays, like from high school.  One person said, “It’s really annoying.  I look at the calendar and I’m like, ‘Oh today is [this person’s] birthday.  And I haven’t spoken to them for years or even decades.'”

3.  Old locker combinations.

4.  Your old classroom seating chart.

5.  One person said, “I remember my 3rd Grade teacher’s favorite color.”

6.  The first Wi-Fi password you had . . . even back when they were a string of random letters and numbers.

7.  The alphabet backwards.

8.  All the U.S. presidents in order.

9.  How to spell “Mississippi.”  (So someone considers knowing how to spell Mississippi “useless” right now.)

10.  The rules of baseball.  (Same.)

11.  Every single country flag.  (Which SEEMS useful, but probably isn’t.)

12.  If you’ve worked in a grocery store:  Produce codes (4011 is bananas).

13.  How to play “Hot Cross Buns” on a recorder.

14.  How to play “Chopsticks” on the piano.

15.  The steps to fold an origami crane.

16.  The theme song to “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.

17.  And for older folks:  The theme song to “Gilligan’s Island”.

18.  The “Macarena”.

19.  Lines from old plays and literature readings from school . . . like a speech from “Hamlet”.

20.  The spell to summon Captain Planet.

21.  The codes for special moves or cheats in video games.

22.  The rules of the game “Tag”.  (???)

23.  Old advertising jingles, like JG Wentworth:  877-CASH-NOW and “It’s my money, and I need it now!”  . . . Mentos:  “Fresh and full of life!” . . .

McDonald’s:  “Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun” . . . the 1-877-KARS-4-KIDS song . . . and 588-2300-EMPIRE:  “TODAY!”  (One thing that nobody has memorized is the never-ending paragraph of potential side effects from various prescription drugs.)
