Originally coined by Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) on Parks and Recreation, the day before Valentine’s Day has come to be a day for women (single or otherwise) to get together with their friends and celebrate their friendship. Basically, it’s a day to celebrate platonic love.
And it seems more people are on board with Galentine’s Day than Valentine’s Day … A survey found that 63% of single Gen Zers and Millennials believe friendships and self-love should be celebrated just as much as romantic relationships. Those planning to spend Valentine’s Day with their friends plan to have dinner or drinks (42%) or have a group self-care night (36%).
