What’s your favorite country song that’s got a sense of humor to it?  Someone came up with a list of the 20 funniest country songs of all time.  Here are a few that made the cut . . .

1.  “Did I Shave My Legs for This?” by Deana Carter.  (1995)  About a wife getting dolled up, but her husband’s too busy with TV and beer.

2.  “You’re the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly” by Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty.  (1978)  A couple who playfully blame each other for everything.

3.  “I’m Gonna Miss Her” by Brad Paisley.  (2001)  About a guy who has to choose between his wife and going fishing . . . and chooses fishing.

4.  “Shut Up and Fish” by Maddie & Tae.  (2015)  About taking a city boy fishing.  But instead of trying to hook a fish, he’s trying to hook up.

5.  “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” by Joe Nichols.  (2005)  They don’t really fall off in an R-rated way . . . she just tends to lose stuff when she drinks.

6.  “Some Beach” by Blake Shelton.  (2004)  There’s an obvious play on words in that one.

7.  “When It Rains It Pours” by Luke Combs.  (2017)  A guy’s woman leaves him . . . and then everything else in his life ALSO starts going right.

8.  “Goodbye Earl” by The Chicks.  (1999)  About MURDERING an abusive husband.  But the whole song is done in a comically upbeat way.  Dennis Franz from “NYPD Blue” played him in the music video.

9.  “Bubba Shot the Jukebox” by Mark Chesnutt.  (1992)  About a tough guy who puts a bullet in a jukebox for playing a sad song that makes him cry.

10.  “Boy Named Sue” by Johnny Cash.  (1969)  About naming your kid Sue to toughen him up.  A lot of people don’t know Johnny didn’t actually write it.  It’s by children’s author Shel Silverstein, who did “Where the Sidewalk Ends”.
